?Europe Day? (Polish: „Dzień Europy”) is organised annually by European Students? Forum AEGEE-Poznań and Europe Direct Poznań. 9 May is the date which officially designates the European Union. It was established to commemorate the presentation of the European Coal and Steel Community foundation plan. According to the resolution of European Parliament, on this day we officially celebrate the ?Europe Day?.
The project allows the organizers to join the celebration of ?Europe Day?. In 2014 the main goal was to encourage citizens of Poznań to vote in election to the European Parliament. Project promotes the idea of democracy, active citizenship and ?Common Europe?. It also contributes to responsible and politically engaged image of Poznań, and the whole Poland on the European stage.
The ideas of the project were promoted especially at universities in Poznań. The highlight was the happening, which took place on 9 May at Plac Wolności.
