Summer University

Facebook: Through the Pologne – Summer University 2016

Summer University is an event that takes place during summer between one and four weeks in most of the cities that AEGEE is present. Understanding and exploring the multicultural dimension of the European continent, removing national borders, fighting for tolerance and creating open-minded citizens are some of the reasons why 20 to 50 young Europeans from all over Europe come together in each Summer University to taste the diversity of multiculturalism.

In a Summer University you will be given the chance to taste different food, to listen to different music, to dance with that music and at the end love it, to be good friends with people from different countries and then arranging trips together, you will learn to say „hi” in another 20 languages, you will feel free, you will love, you will experience, you will learn new things, you will do things you hadn’t imagined? You will feel the AEGEE spirit, you will feel what is a SU!

The description of the project: ?Summer University 2016 – Through the Pologne?

Poland: Beautiful, medieval cities full of historical atmosphere. Breathtaking nature, ranging from the Beskidy mountains to the Baltic sea. Warm-hearted people famous for their unique hospitality. Traditions that survived through the ages and which now are a substantial part of the Slavic spirit.
Have you always wanted to visit Poland but you didn?t know where to start? Then this Summer University is definitely for you! Join our tour through the Pologne and take this one-in-a-million chance to see the whole country in 14 days. Immerse into the Polish culture for a fortnight and let us exceed your expectations!
Our trip starts in Gdańsk, the city of amber and trade. Imagine yourself wandering slowly on the pier or lying on the beach in Sopot? Can you feel the chilliness of the water on the feet and breeze in the hair? Relax and when you?re ready, go with us to the next destination. We make a stop in Toruń, the cosy city of gothic architecture and full of the gingerbread scent only to head for our lively capital city ? Warszawa. It?s impossible not to feel the powerful history of this place and how well it connects the old with the modern. Then we visit Poznań – a modern city that constantly attracts students from all over the world with its bustling nightlife and leisure time opportunities. We are going to combine both: start a day in a rope park/on a paintball field and finish in a latino club!
Next station is in Wrocław, where you?ll have a chance to see one of the most charming old towns. Be ready to meet with dwarves, take a moment to admire the city and save some energy for the evening party. Then there comes Silesia, the south beauty with 3 great cities to explore: Gliwice, Zabrze and Katowice. Nobody knows where one city ends and the other begins – it?s a puzzle for you to solve. There you will go down again, to the core of the Earth only to get out and see the tallest wooden building in the world. You may wonder, what can that be? That?s Gliwice Radio Tower, the symbol of this city. Then you will have a chance to taste our traditional Silesian cuisine which you?ll prepare yourself.
In the Beskidy mountains there is another adventure waiting for you! It?s here, where you have your survival experience among the bushy forests and wonderful lakes. Defeat all the opponents in a paintball match and finally warm up a bit by the bonfire with the bravest AEGEE people, who made it to that moment :)
Our trip ends in Kraków – the beautiful city of a dragon. Go up with us to the Wawel castle and down to the Wieliczka salt mine. Don?t forget to say hello to the dragon and take a moment of relax in the Vistula River before the goodbye party that will sum up all great things that you experienced here !
Apply and fall in love with Poland!
